Your participation in this year’s WA Muslim Lobby Day will ensure that our communities continue to build influence in state politics.

At the event, you will join 500 Muslims from across the state as you enjoy delicious breakfast and lunch, march together to the Capitol Building, rally at the Capitol Steps, meet in groups with your state lawmakers in their offices, take guided tours of State Capitol Building and Campus, and learn how Washington State Muslims can build real political power in our communities!

You can sign up (see registration form) to take our buses from your city to Olympia and back! Advance registration is required. Cities where we have buses include Seattle, Mountlake Terrace, Tukwila, Kent, Tacoma, Redmond, Richland, Yakima, Pullman, Vancouver, Bellingham and more. This will make your trip as convenient and enjoyable as possible. Of course you may also drive your own vehicle if you prefer. Buses from Western WA cities will leave early morning on Monday, January 19 (exact times will be provided to registered persons) and will arrive in Olympia by 8:45am. Buses/vans from Central and Eastern WA cities will arrive at 5pm on Sunday, January 19 in Olympia, allowing time for you to explore downtown Olympia the evening before the event.

If you live in Central or Eastern Washington we will help you make lodging arrangements in Olympia well in advance to ensure you have an enjoyable experience. If you are coming from Central or Eastern Washington, you have two options for lodging in Olympia:

1) Stay at the Governor Hotel in downtown Olympia. CAIR-WA can cover the cost of hotels for those registered to take buses from Eastern and Central WA cities. We will make hotel reservations for you after you register and will inform you of your room number.

Or, if you would like to cover the cost of your hotel room, please note that rooms with 2 queen beds or 1 king bed are available at a special rate of $91 (including all taxes & fees) if you mention "CAIR" or "Muslim Lobby Day." Call the Governor Hotel at 360.352.7700 to make reservations and provide your credit/debit card to reserve the room under your name.

The hotel reservations include complimentary wireless internet and a hot breakfast. The hotel is located 6 blocks from the Olympia Center where we will have our morning assembly. If you are taking the bus to Olympia from Central or Eastern WA, your bus will take you to the Governor Hotel and will also take you to the morning assembly location from the hotel on the event date. This is already included in your event registration.

2) You can stay with a friend or relative in Olympia.  If you plan to do this, please inform us when you register for the event, so that we do not reserve a hotel room for you.

  1. Volunteer your time to register your friends and family to attend the event, or to visit your lawmakers in your own neighborhood during December 2014.
