The CAIR-WA office has been busy recently, thanks to our wonderful summer interns. This summer we have the privilege of hosting interns representing four different universities across the state of Washington.
We are still seeking applicants for the Civil Rights/Case IntakeInternship. Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis. Applications are evaluated as they are received and qualified candidates are then contacted; there is no particular deadline. All applicants are evaluated strictly on the basis of merit, but Muslims are strongly encouraged to apply.

As a Graphic Design major, Eric works on web site graphics, creating posters, materials for the 2011 banquet, brochures and many other items. Mark, a political science major, is working to develop a state-wide Muslim voters guide based on suggestions from Muslim community members and leaders. He has conducted a great deal of research about the approaching local elections in an effort to produce a document that will inform Muslims across the state about this year's election candidates. Samir, also a political science major, has taken on the challenging task of coordinating this year's Muslim Youth Leadership Program, and collaborating with Eric in creating advertising materials, while also assisting Civil Rights Coordinator Jennifer Gist with civil rights case management. Tim, double majoring in political science and communication, is continuing the work of previous Communications Intern Dana Yoo, in analyzing The Seattle Times' coverage of Muslims and Islam, as well as managing the newsletter, photo album, and editing reports. |
